
Bioinformatician (f/m) - Full time (40h)
Scientific Computing at IST Austria not only provides a HPC cluster for our scientists, but also supports the research with services in the field of scientific computing. If you have expertise and some experience in genomic technologies, and you enjoy working in a dynamic, growing, and challenging international environment – this position might be perfect for you. You will help scientists to design and pursue cutting edge experiments and analysis at the frontier of genomic sciences. Are you interested in how your future working place may look like? - Collaborate with research groups to analyze data sets obtained by RNA/DNA sequencing (e.g. WES, RNAseq, ATACseq, ChIPseq etc…)
- Implement protocols for Next Generation RNA/DNA Sequencing (bulk, single cell).
- Establish custom data analysis pipelines and maintain existing ones
- Assist scientific groups in experimental design for genomic technologies
- Provide end user documentation and training
Requirements:
- MSc or PhD in Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics or Computer Science
- Experience in running / establishing bioinformatics data analysis pipelines
- Profound knowledge in programming languages and statistics
- Enthusiasm to develop new techniques and methods
- Knowledge and experience with state of the art wet lab protocols is an asset
- Very good organizational and communication skills
- High degree of responsibility combined with high quality standards to deliver a constantly high level of service
- Good communication skills and good command of the English language
We offer a minimum salary of EUR 47000 gross/year, with possible overpayment depending on education, qualification and work experience.
